Rapid English text entry with Go-oo AutoCorrect
Word Completion in Go-oo works well for longer words, but not at all for the shorter common grammar words used to compose thoughts in sentences. A kind of keyboard shorthand can be made with the AutoCorrect feature of Go-oo writer by adding abbreviations that are not words, but expand into commonly used words.
Here is my evolving list of shorthand auto-corrections:
bc → because
h → here
hw → how
nx → next
w → with
yr → your
u → you
wt → what
wn→ when
wr → where
wo → without
Now I’m only adding these as I find I need them–and you can do this mostly when you pay attention to the words you’re repeating over and over again while your right. Go-oo doesn’t have any way I’ve found to load/unload these kinds of configurations. This isn’t to be confused with Dutton Speedwords (which sadly the official site died when Geocities died) which are shorthand for concepts–not words.
Find the “AutoCorrect Options…” menu item underneath the Tools menu to see or change your current configuration.
